In Greene County district court Pamela Kay Johnson, 60, of Fort Dodge was sentenced two 90 days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty April 24 to a charge of operating while intoxicated- first offense. All but two days of the jail time was suspended. She can completed a 48-hour weekend offender program in lieu of jail time. She must also follow the recommendations of a substance abuse evaluation she has already undergone and she must complete a community college drinking drivers school. She will be on informal probation for one year. Johnson was fined $1,250 with a $437.50 surcharge and a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE). She must pay $536.30 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Derek Eugene Ott, 35, of Jefferson, theft- third degree, and in a separate case, theft- second degree; Terry Lee Romick, 23, of Coon Rapids, OWI- first offense; Jacob Thomas Monthei, 18, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- second offense; David Hoyle, 31, of Churdan, harassment- first degree; Scott Eldon Davis, 47, of Jefferson, theft- second degree; Faith Ann Kloss, 56, of Carroll, possession of methamphetamine- first offense; and Nicholas Anthony Balderas, 25, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault- third or subsequent offense. Trial dates were set for June 13 for all defendants except Balderas. A trial date of May 9 was set for him.
